As payment they were given part of the harvest in return for their work. Located near Radda-in-Chianti, Ceperano is within walking distance up the hillside. When we were there recently, we watched one of our residents coming down the hill with milk for breakfast! Ceperano was restored to maintain the architectural integrity of the farm building incorporating efficient holiday apartments.
