David Geen started Villas and Vines over 15 years ago specializing in food and wine adventures in Italy, France, Spain, Argentina and Ireland (food and beer). Repeat customers like The Cooking Cottage (a cooking school from Buck’s County, PA) are requesting new culinary destinations based on our winning tour formula, hence, the creation of Hungry Village Tours! “David’s creating a local agriculture related micro-business focusing on culinary/cultural tourism in the Saugatuck/Douglas lakeshore community” according to Felicia Fairchild, Executive Director of the Saugatuck/Douglas Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“Hungry Village Tours” begins each tour at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, acknowledging their weekly Greenmarket and the Center’s history as a pie factory. There will be two tours available daily with advanced reservations. The first tour is a walking tour of the Green Market and exploring Saugatuck and Douglas’ culinary secrets behind the storefronts with demonstrations and tastings. The second tour option includes a driving tour of the Lakeshore’s producers including farms, orchards, blueberry patches, vintners, brewers, creameries and smokehouses.
Small groups maximize the experience. It's the perfect way to enhance your Saugatuck-Douglas vacation! Hungry Village Tours offers an exceptional “behind the scenes” glimpse of local culture, food, wine, customs and FUN! Let us create a special tour for your group, or join us and schedule a departure from the Saugatuck Center for the Arts.
